This Mama's Got the Magic of Clorox 2 - Review & GIVEAWAY

I don't know about the rest of you Moms but I have been totally astonished at just how much laundry my little family of 5 can produce. And it is Never Ending! Sheesh! Of course, looking on the bright side, that means I get all kinds of opportunities to try out new method for providing my family with a beautiful, clean wash.

Twist 'n Loc Makes Me Twist 'n Shout: Product Review

Question: What has a wide rim, finger grips, a ridged lid to make handling easy and came in my mailbox?

Answer: Ziploc Brand Twist 'n Loc® Containers!!

Those fine folks over at Ziploc kindly sent me a set of 3 of their new containers to try and who am I to argue with them.:)

Here is what I found:

Whereas their containers of the past have strictly had snap on lids, these lids twist on like a jar. They have a leak-resistant seal, significantly cutting down on spills or leaks. They are safe for the microwave, freezer, and dishwasher. They have measurement lines, making calculating amounts a breeze and they come in 2-cup and 4-cup sizes.

Here is what I did like:

The containers are easy to use. Since they resemble a jar, the lids screw into place. To use, fill the container and twist on the lid to seal it. The indents on the bottom of the container act as finger grips, making it easy to hold the bottom of the container and then twist on the lid. They are advertised as being leak resistant and they are - as long as the lid is securely twisted onto the container.:) As with Ziploc's other containers, they are reusable. They are also inexpensive enough for me to use when I take dinner to someone else and not need them back. The containers can even be stacked atop one another for easy storage.

Here is what I didn't like:

The only thing I really did not like was the fact that the lids are such a dark blue that writing dates or contents is very difficult. The only way around it is the tried and true 'permanent marker on masking tape'. Not much progress there.

Here is what I say:

Overall, they are a keeper. I can see, oh, about a million uses for them. The company suggests the following uses:

• Perfect for soups, stews, and gravies—store them in the fridge or take them on the go.
• Keep homemade baked goods and after-school snacks fresh and accessible.
• Store and transport messy foods like flour, pasta, and cereal with ease.
• Store cookies and crackers when you're on the road to keep them safe and secure.
• Keep pens, pencils, and other office supplies neat and organized.
• Organize and store crayons, paintbrushes, and other art supplies.

What else can you dream up??

The Ziploc Brand Twist 'n Loc® Containers can be found at grocery stores near you as well as online at places such as Target, where they normally retail for about $2.49 - not too bad for a package of 3 containers. They are already on my Back to School list for both my girls! Thanks Ziploc!
